Project 52 Photo Challenge : self portrait (4/52)

Time for another Project 52 post! This week’s theme wasn’t quite pet-related. Instead, we turned the cameras around to give you a glimpse of, well, us!

Since I already have a few pictures of me floating around the site, I used this as an opportunity to get a little creative. I do a lot of night/low light street photography in my copious (ha) spare time, so I like to think that I know my way around a remote shutter release for long exposures. However, I’ve never tried one with a person in it! Since there’s no time like the present, I set up the tripod in the dining room, handed the hubby the remote shutter release, and had some fun. If you’re wondering what that crazy light-emitting thing is that I’m holding, it’s just an iPhone 4. I’m all about makeshift lighting decisions.

Oh, and this was a 9 second exposure at f/5.6. And, uh, I’m totally wearing my pajamas. And no makeup. That’s how I roll.

Of course, the other half had to join in, as well:

Up next in the blog ring is Cyndi¬†Kuiper! Let’s see how she interpreted this challenge. I know you know the drill by now, but don’t forget to click all the way through the blog ring (full of awesomely talented pet photographers from around the world!) until you’ve landed right back where you started. :)

Next week Yours Truly is picking the Project 52 theme. Time to brainstorm!

Stephanie Madeline - Love this! Really cool idea Claire. I was in my PJ’s too. I wanted to do my hair and everything but I was just too tired.April 1, 2011 – 12:42 pm
